We love and breathe glasses
I am Twinkle, the Optometrist Director at Walbank Opticians. I have worn glasses from the age of 9. There was and still is a ‘stigma’ around wearing glasses. This started to change when celebrities started to wear bolder and unique glasses, making glasses more of a fashion accessory. A famous one, is of course Harry Potter!
Unfortunately, the UK market does not seem to have a variety of styles. So, I ventured out; and discovered eyewear from Milan, Paris and other fashion cities. Then everything changed. I started to become excited about wearing different styles, different colours and more bolder shapes. For the first time, I became excited about wearing my glasses.
Now, I am bringing these styles and excitement to Walbank Opticians!

The Practice
Walbank Opticians, in Holbury, have been providing eyecare and eyewear to the people of the New Forest and Waterside since 1984, when Mr Walbank opened the practice. Through his care and dedication he created a wonderful business and, now, we endeavour to honour his hard work by providing an exceptional service in a relaxed and friendly environment.
We are extremely proud to be the only family-owned and completely independent (not associated with a national company) on the Waterside. What does this mean for you?
We have no restrictions placed upon us in how we provide our services and with what products we use. Whatever you need or want from your eyecare and glasses, we can access. We are not restricted to certain suppliers, and we will search up and down the UK to bring you frames and lenses that your prescription requires. Our skill and expertise means that we can make up good quality glasses for even the most complex prescriptions.
We are conveniently located on Long Lane, with free parking directly outside our practice.
